Overview
The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity as a Custodian at Montana State Hospital.
Custodians provide janitorial services to maintain the Montana State Hospital building in a clean and orderly condition. Responsibilities include cleaning and disinfecting within the facility; restocking supplies and maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies; and checking areas for safety hazards such as broken glass and disposing of appropriately.

Qualifications- General knowledge of janitorial procedures and operating various pieces of cleaning equipment such as a high-speed buffer, vacuum, and carpet and upholstery machines.
- Skills in proper cleaning techniques.
- Ability to work co-operatively with others and protect patients’ rights and confidentiality.
- Ability to be comfortable working around mentally ill and security risk patients.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Ability to demonstrate a friendly “can do” attitude.
- Meet the following minimum qualifications:
- High School or GED.
- One year janitorial, housekeeping, or custodial experience preferred.
