00006 – Quality Control & Nursery Manager – Eastern Cape

Purpose of the Job:
To manage & oversee nursery operations and quality control processes for the client's farm.

Required Qualifications

A Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Environmental Science, or a related field.

Proven experience in nursery management or quality control in a similar role.

Experience with Spekboom propagation and planting is highly advantageous.

Technical Competencies & Experience:

Encourage a culture of cooperation and environmental responsibility.

Keep thorough records of all nursery operations and production results.

Plan and oversee the propagation, planting, and maintenance of Spekboom and other indigenous species.

Manage the nursery team, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to production targets.

Report progress, difficulties, and suggestions for improvement on a regular basis to management.

Develop and implement quality control measures for all planting and nursery activities

Maintain optimal growing conditions, including irrigation, pest control, and soil management.

Train and mentor nursery staff on propagation techniques and quality standards.

Behavioural Competencies:

Strong organizational and project management skills.

Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.

Keen attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Proficiency in record-keeping and reporting.

Adaptability to work in a remote, farm-based environment.
