Senior Cost Manager

Role:
Senior Cost Manager (Senior Quantity Surveyor) focusing on high value construction schemes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on cost management for construction projects up to £100m value.
  • Build client relationships and act as a credible expert and Gleeds ambassador.
  • Advisory role to junior surveyors and support their professional development.
  • Deliver high quality services and ensure cost management deliverables meet customers’ requirements.
  • Prepare and present cost estimates, option studies, tender documentation and manage the tender process.
  • Valuing completed work, arranging payments and settling final accounts.
  • Administer contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer’s Agent.
  • Identify new business development opportunities and drive growth.
  • Manage service delivery for profit and advise Directors of any issues that might impact on professional indemnity insurance.
Qualifications
  • Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) or Member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB).
  • Sound cost management experience post qualification.
  • Practical experience of cost estimating and planning.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and materials.
  • Experience of construction procurement strategies, tendering and contract strategies.
  • Experience of post-contract cost management tasks.
  • Clear communication skills (oral and written) and methodical approach.
  • Organisational and problem solving, negotiating, finance and numeracy skills.
  • Proficient ICT skills with MS Office.
  • Understanding of legislation impacting building contracts.
  • Team working ability.
