Senior Architectural Designer - Commercial Fit-Outs & Renovations

Our client, a dynamic architectural firm specializing in high-end commercial fit-outs and complex renovations, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Architectural Designer for their Randburg, Gauteng office. This role is pivotal in leading the design process for a variety of commercial spaces, including corporate offices, retail environments, and hospitality venues. You will be responsible for transforming existing spaces and delivering bespoke, functional, and aesthetically sophisticated interior architectural solutions.

• Lead the design development and execution of commercial interior architectural projects, including fit-outs and major renovations.
• Collaborate closely with clients to understand their brand, operational needs, and design aspirations.
• Develop detailed design concepts, space plans, technical drawings, and specifications for interior architecture.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and consultant coordination from concept to completion.
• Select and specify finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) to align with design intent and budget.
• Ensure compliance with building regulations, fire safety standards, and accessibility requirements for commercial spaces in Randburg.
• Oversee site implementation, liaising with contractors and managing the construction administration process for interior projects.
• Mentor junior designers and provide technical guidance on complex detailing and construction issues.
• Stay current with trends in commercial interior design, materials, and sustainable design practices.
• Present design proposals effectively to clients and project stakeholders.

• Professional degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in architectural design, with a strong focus on commercial interiors, fit-outs, and renovations.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering high-quality commercial interior projects.
• Expertise in architectural design software (Revit, AutoCAD) and proficiency in visualisation tools.
• Deep understanding of materials, construction methods, and detailing for commercial interiors.
• Strong client management, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Experience working within the Gauteng commercial property market is essential.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet demanding deadlines.
• Knowledge of furniture, fixtures, and equipment specification and procurement.
• Professional registration with SACAP or SAID is preferred.
