Mechanical Electrical Engineer

TEXO Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced M&E Engineer on behalf of our external client for a residential refurbishment project in Southampton
. The M&E Engineer will take responsibility for coordination of mechanical and electrical services
, ensuring all systems are integrated, clash‑free and delivered to the required standards.

Location: Southampton

Start Date: December / Early Jan

Duration: 12 months

• Coordinate all mechanical and electrical services with architectural and structural designs.
• Review drawings, models, and technical submissions, providing feedback and resolving discrepancies.
• Lead and participate in coordination meetings with subcontractors and design teams.
• Identify and resolve on‑site and design‑stage clashes, ensuring seamless installation.
• Support the site team with technical issues, design queries, and change management.
• Monitor M&E installation progress to ensure alignment with programme and specification.
• Ensure compliance with building regulations, industry standards, and project quality requirements.
• Support commissioning, testing procedures, snagging, and final handover documentation.

• Proven experience as an M&E Engineer, Building Services Engineer, or similar role with coordination responsibility.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services in residential or refurbishment environments.
• Ability to interpret and review detailed M&E drawings and 3D coordination models.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
