Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established building services consultancy based in Fareham. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with 2–5 years’ experience to take on greater responsibility, contribute to exciting projects, and progress toward a senior role.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will deliver sustainable, innovative mechanical design solutions across residential, commercial, education, and healthcare projects, working from concept through to project completion.

Key Responsibilities

Design mechanical building services systems, including HVAC, ventilation, hot & cold-water systems, and plant rooms
Prepare calculations, technical reports, specifications, and design documentation in line with UK standards
Produce and modify design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit (Revit experience desirable)
Participate in client, contractor, and internal design meetings, contributing technical expertise
Support site inspections and technical assessments as required
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver fully coordinated MEP solutions
Stay up-to-date with UK building regulations, CIBSE guidance, industry best practices, and low-carbon technologies
Candidate Profile

Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
2–5 years’ experience in mechanical building services design within consultancy or contracting
Proficiency in Hevacomp, IES, AutoCAD;
Revit knowledge is advantageous
Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations, CIBSE standards, and sustainable design principles
Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
Motivated to develop toward Senior Engineer level and progress toward Chartered status
