PQ Management Accountant

Are you a Part Qualified Management Accountant looking for a new challenge? Do you want to join a business where you can progress as you study further? Our client is a large business based in Preston who are looking for a PQ Management Accountant to join the finance team and produce the month end management reporting pack. The role offers the candidate a chance to progress as they look to qualify in the next 12 months, with a supportive team who can offer mentorship for your professional growth.

You will gain experience of both financial and commercial reporting and exposure to the Board of Directors as well as UK and European reporting exposure. Within this role as PQ Management Accountant, you will be responsible for:
Producing monthly management accounts and provide commentary for the UK financial controller. Monitor the accuracy of the transactional processing and associated month end reconciliations. Compiling expenditure reports and working with department heads to set budgets and monitor costs. Monitor the stock control, movements and levels with tight controls and develop accountability. Develop the KPI reporting suite with particular focus on product trends, margin reporting, gross margin and customer trends while successfully reporting on the variances.

Accruals/Prepayments. Complete bank reconciliations and monitor the cashflow balances daily.

Experience of working with an ERP system and ideally a history of improving controls and processes Although your role will be mainly focused on finance, you will also be involved across the business in developing the accountability of expenditure and cost management with decision makers. We are happy to consider candidates who are working towards qualifying in the profession through the study of CIMA/ACCA/ACA, ideally you will be past half way or at the later stages of study, however you must be able to demonstrate previous experience within transactional accounting and associated month-end reporting routines.
