Summary
The Delivery Lead at SailGP Technologies plays a critical role in managing quality control of composite production and logistics operations. This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient, high‑quality delivery of all outgoing components, maintaining the highest standards. A key aspect is implementing and managing a robust track and trace system to enhance production visibility and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role reports to the SailGP Technologies Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and champion robust quality control measures.
  • Establish and ensure adherence to all relevant process documentation.
  • Collate and manage all documentation before the completion and delivery of a part.
  • Assist with tracking hours and material usage.
  • Manage the scheduling, tracking, and reporting for Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT).
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, embedding best practices from high‑performance composite manufacturing.
  • Manage logistics of all containers arriving and departing to SGPT, including the planning, packing and coordination of F50 and components, ensuring accurate documentation and clear communications.
  • Assist Project Manager with F50 life cycle analysis.
  • Champion sustainable initiatives and reduce waste from the production process, ensuring all waste enters a recycle stream where possible.

Continuous Improvement

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, integrating best practices from the high‑performance composite manufacturing sector.
  • Collaborate with process development to streamline the inspection process, championing improvement initiatives, including waste reduction and development of efficient recycling streams across production.
  • Plan and manage the shipping, packing and logistics of boats/parts in line with deadlines and shipping line/airline guidelines and policies.
  • Act as the key link between senior leadership and the shop floor, ensuring clear communication and alignment on priorities.
  • Oversee and lead the implementation of the apprenticeship scheme, fostering the development of the next generation of skilled technicians.
  • Provide support for the apprenticeship mentors and coordinate their training, providing guidance and addressing any challenges they may face.
  • Champion the value of apprenticeships within the company and the wider industry.
  • Continuously improve and evolve the apprenticeship scheme to meet changing industry needs and ensure it remains effective in developing skilled technicians.
  • Oversee and direct the use of materials within the facility, ensuring efficient allocation and consumption of resources to meet project needs and minimise waste.
  • Work with the Facilities coordinator and Foreman to implement emergency facility works or maintenance that hinders the production process.
  • Identify training and development needs within the team to enhance skills and career progression.
  • Champion health and safety best practices, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Team Leaders to ensure the facility’s working areas are clean and well‑maintained at all times to the best standard.
  • Ensure adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental regulations, always promoting a culture of safety in the workplace.
  • Create and establish best working practices and conduct risk assessments.
  • Champion recycling streams and initiatives, and the reduction of waste in the production process.

Key Skills And Experience

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a high‑performance composite manufacturing environment (aerospace, automotive or similar).
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to inspire, develop, motivate and lead teams effectively.
  • Deep understanding of composite manufacturing processes and quality assurance best practices.
  • Ability to drive efficiency, innovation and continuous improvement in production operations.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills, with a hands‑on approach to leadership.
  • Strong organizational and decision‑making abilities in a fast‑paced environment.
