Motor Neuron Disease Association Senior Research Nurse
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with us. This role is part of the motor neuron disease (MND) clinical research delivery locally and regionally.
Job OverviewWe are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, organised and experienced senior research nurse with excellent communication skills to develop and maintain a growing portfolio of MND clinical trials, and support the systems, procedures and teams associated with their delivery. The post starts as soon as possible for up to 4 years.
Responsibilities- Maintain effective working relationships with the MND Association, NIHR Regional Research Delivery Networks, Lead Research Nurse and the Research Delivery Team.
- Oversee the MND clinical trials portfolio locally and manage overall recruitment within a regional collaborative strategy.
- Provide high‑quality coordinated research care for individuals diagnosed with MND and their caregivers, under guidance of the Care & Research Centre/Network consultant neurologist.
- Lead, support, train and educate the trials team, and manage patients on clinical trials.
- Coordinate on‑site and off‑site visits, including home visits as required; travel locally, regionally and nationally.
- Support researchers, ethics submissions, data management and compliance with Research Governance Framework and GCP.
- Registered Nurse on the relevant part of the professional register (NMC).
- Experience of teaching and mentorship, recognised qualification in teaching and mentorship.
- Educated to post‑graduate degree level or equivalent experience.
- Experience with senior level patient care and recent NHS experience.
- Clinical research experience and knowledge of RGF, ICH/GCP.
- Relevant speciality experience and recent management experience.
- Recognised qualification in relevant speciality.
- Research coordinator experience.
- Experience of budgetary control.
