Location:

Salary: £15,000 - £20,000 per annum

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Refuge Project Worker to support children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse and are living in refuge accommodation. This is a trauma-informed role focused on safety, recovery, empowerment and long-term outcomes for children and families.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing one-to-one and group support to children and young people in refuge
* Delivering safety planning, advocacy and emotional support
* Supporting children to process trauma and build resilience
* Facilitating group work, peer support and holiday activities
* Working in partnership with mothers to strengthen family relationships
* Supporting access to education, including school liaison and transfers
* Developing and reviewing individual support and risk management plans
* Advocating for families with statutory and voluntary agencies
* Maintaining accurate case records and reports in line with data protection
* Contributing to the safe day-to-day running of refuge accommodation
* Participating in an out-of-hours on-call rota, including emergency response
What we’re looking for:
* Experience supporting vulnerable children and young people
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
* Ability to work within a multi-agency and legislative framework
* Confidence in advocacy, risk assessment and safety planning
* Ability to manage a caseload and work independently
* Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills
* Full driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance
