Specialty Doctor – Clinical Haematology

Here is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly pathology team as a Specialty doctor – clinical haematology.

You will work alongside one Trainee Specialty Registrar (ST3+) and one other Specialty Doctors in haematology.

Responsibilities:

• Provide care for in‑patients admitted under the haematology team.
• Provide medical cover for the haematology infusion unit and chemotherapy day unit.
• Review and manage unwell patients on transfusion and chemotherapy.
• Advise doctors from other specialties and general practitioners on haematological problems.
• Attend out‑patient clinics, including the weekly lymphoma clinic.
• Perform bone marrow biopsies.
• Prescribe chemotherapy and administer intrathecal chemotherapy following trust‑approved training.
• Report blood films and bone marrow aspirates under the supervision of Consultant Haematologists.
