A Political Affairs Programme
Join The Borgen Project
—an international organisation that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine and poverty.
The Borgen Project believes that leaders of the most powerful nations should do more to address global poverty. Our national campaign works to make poverty a focus of U.S., Canadian and U.K. foreign policy. With 20 years of experience, we have supported the passage of numerous bills benefit ting close to 500 million people in developing countries.
This is a part‑time, 12‑hour per week, 12‑week unpaid remote programme. If your availability is limited, you can work ahead and complete the programme in fewer weeks. College credit may be available.
Responsibilities- Lead public and political outreach in your state and district.
- Meet with members of Congress/Government in your state/district/constituency.
- Represent The Borgen Project at various business, political and community events.
- Assisting with fundraising – create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets.
- Mobilize individuals to contact their members of government in support of key poverty‑reduction legislation.
- Speak to groups, classes and organizations.
- Write letters of support for key programs to political leaders, media and other groups.
No prior experience is necessary. We’re looking for people who are passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs, regardless of GPAs or background.
