CNC SETTER – 4 DAY WEEK

Southend-on-Sea, Essex
£30,000 – £35,000 per annum, DOE
Permanent, Full-Time | Monday–Thursday, 6:45 am–4:30 pm

Our client, a long-established engineering company, is expanding due to new contracts and increased production demand. They are seeking an experienced CNC Setter / Operator to support both first and second operations within the machining department.

• Set and run first operations machinery, including fixed head and sliding head CNC machines, lathes, turning mills, and bar feeders (Dooson, Hardinge, Mori, Star).
• Support the setting and running of second operations machinery such as thread rollers, grinders, part markers, drill banks, depitching presses, torque testers, and deburring equipment.
• Work confidently with aluminium, stainless steels, and Inconel.
• Coordinate programming and setting activities alongside existing setters.
• Carry out first-off inspections and job-run checks for both first and second operation parts.
• Adhere to all health and safety procedures and ensure correct PPE is used at all times.
• Accurately complete production records, clockings, and work movement through the company’s computerised system.
• Report efficiencies, scrap, and rework to the Production Manager.
• Maintain machine efficiency to support on-time delivery, arrears reduction, PPH, and other KPIs.
• Produce high-quality components in line with agreed standards and quality procedures.
• Complete daily maintenance and cycle time documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well‑organised work area.
• Train and support junior operators where required.
