Fitness Instructor

About the Role

This is an on‑site, self‑employed position based in Southend‑on‑Sea, Essex. Applicants must already be living in the UK and within a commutable distance of Southend‑on‑Sea, Essex, as the role may require early start times (as early as 5:30am). Unfortunately, we are unable to consider applications from candidates based outside the UK.

We’re initially looking for someone who can commit to teaching our functional fitness classes on Monday evenings and Wednesday mornings
. There will be a small number of class shifts each week to begin with, with the potential for this to grow.

• Deliver high‑quality, motivating functional fitness classes.
• Set up and prepare the studio for functional sessions.
• Engage confidently with members before, during and after sessions to build an inclusive, upbeat training environment.
• Contribute to client retention by helping create a strong studio community.
• Develop and record content for our social media channels (both in‑studio and personal filming).
• Help shape the functional fitness schedule by proposing and setting up new class formats.
• Maintain studio standards and support the management team to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Make the most of your existing client base by providing personal training sessions within our studio.

We’d love to hear from you if you are:

• A qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer with group training experience.
• Already coaching in Essex and have an existing PT/client base you can bring into the studio.
• Confident delivering high‑energy, high‑quality group sessions.
• Knowledgeable on form, technique and safe functional movement patterns.
• Creative and comfortable producing simple, engaging content for social media.
• Positive, reliable, and excited to contribute ideas as we grow the functional fitness side of the studio.
• First Aid certified.
• Experience with functional training formats.
