Civil Site Manager - Residential Developments

Our client, a leading developer focused on creating high-quality residential estates, is seeking an experienced Civil Site Manager for projects in Soweto. This role is essential for overseeing the planning and execution of all civil engineering aspects of residential developments, including bulk earthworks, roads, stormwater, water reticulation, and sewerage systems. You will be responsible for managing site teams, ensuring adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership and a deep understanding of civil construction processes within the residential sector. We are looking for a proactive individual who can effectively manage site operations and contribute to the successful delivery of desirable living spaces.

• Manage and supervise all civil construction activities on residential development sites.
• Develop and implement detailed site execution plans and schedules.
• Ensure construction complies with engineering designs, specifications, and quality standards.
• Oversee the management of site staff, subcontractors, and labour.
• Implement and enforce strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols on site.
• Monitor site progress, productivity, and resource allocation, reporting on key performance indicators.
• Manage site logistics, materials procurement, and equipment utilization.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality assurance checks.
• Resolve on-site challenges and technical issues promptly and efficiently.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and relevant authorities to ensure smooth project progression.

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in civil site management, with a focus on residential developments.
• Proven experience in managing bulk earthworks, road construction, and utility installations (water, sewer, stormwater).
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project planning, and scheduling.
• In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to construction sites.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage resources effectively and drive site productivity.
• Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to site management.
• Proficiency in site management software and MS Office Suite.
• A strong commitment to quality, safety, and project delivery.
