IT Project Manager - Network & Infrastructure

Our client, a rapidly expanding technology company, is seeking a dedicated IT Project Manager with expertise in Network and Infrastructure projects to join their team in Soweto, Gauteng
. This role is essential for overseeing the planning, implementation, and maintenance of critical IT infrastructure, including network upgrades, server deployments, and data center management. You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of IT systems that support the business's growth and operational efficiency. • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of IT network and infrastructure projects.
• Develop detailed project plans, defining scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
• Oversee the installation, configuration, and upgrading of network hardware, software, and systems.
• Coordinate with internal IT teams, vendors, and service providers.
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues related to infrastructure deployment.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet technical specifications.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular status reports to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with IT security policies and industry best practices.
• Manage vendor contracts and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Facilitate effective communication between technical teams and business users.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT project management, with a specific focus on network and infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record of successfully managing network upgrades, server deployments, and related IT infrastructure initiatives.
• Solid understanding of network topologies, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Familiarity with ITIL best practices for incident and change management.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, PMP) are highly desirable.
• Experience working in Soweto or the wider Gauteng region is advantageous.
