Direct Support Professional Opportunity

Kindly Direct Care is hiring a caring, dependable Direct Support Professional to provide one-to-one support to an adult with developmental disabilities in Sussex County.

We're looking for an upbeat, patient, and engaging DSP to provide one-on-one support to a fun, independent 23-year-old individual with verbal autism. They enjoy video games, computers, basketball, walks, visiting stores, and building things. They benefit from routine, positive encouragement, and someone who can keep them motivated and engaged, both at home and out in the community. Must be comfortable around animals, as the family has several pets!

What You'll Do

• Provide one-to-one companionship and person-centered support.
• Help the individual participate in recreational activities, games, and community outings.
• Support errands, appointments, recreation, volunteering, social opportunities, or other community activities as applicable.
• Encourage independence, communication, decision-making, self-advocacy, and life skills.
• Help the individual work toward goals identified in the service plan.
• Provide reminders, routine support, or light assistance as required by the case.
• Maintain safety and follow individualized support instructions.
• Complete required documentation and communicate reliably with the Kindly team.

What We're Looking For

• Warm, patient, dependable, and genuinely interested in building a consistent relationship.
• Able to reliably work the posted schedule.
• Comfortable supporting an adult one-to-one in home and community settings.
• DSP, mentoring, education, recreation, human services, or caregiving experience is helpful but may not be required for this assignment.

Schedule:

2 days per week, with 4–6 hours per shift. Very flexible scheduling! Pay: 17-21/hr
