We have a great opportunity for a Bid Manager to manage bid production within our Energy Solutions business at Equans and continue our drive to grow this crucial part of our business.
Energy Solutions deliver and manage renewable infrastructure projects that help businesses and local authorities meet their energy resilience and net‑zero goals. From utility‑scale solar farms and battery energy storage systems (BESS), rooftop PV, grid‑scale storage to smart microgrids, we provide fully integrated, renewable energy solutions.
Key Activities- Identify new opportunities and engage with both existing and new customers at C‑suite level, securing solar and storage projects while articulating Equans UK & Ireland’s wider capabilities in energy and digital transitions.
- Manage the tender process, coordinating internal stakeholders from early opportunity identification through to validated offers as part of our governance process.
- Contribute to the establishment of our 5‑year budget and monitor performance in securing new contracts, maintaining Salesforce data and collaborating with finance on the order book.
- Engage with other Equans entities and overseas partners to share knowledge, maximise customer relationships, and generate additional revenue.
- Report proactively any commercial or ethical concerns.
- Engage with customers and stakeholders professionally to promote an excellent company image.
- Provide accurate information to other entities so they can plan their works and prepare teams for future projects across commercial, financial, design, engineering, procurement, construction, HR, CSR, and legal functions.
- Market Intelligence:
- Monitor and analyse the latest policy and market developments (e.g., CfD results, grid reform lists, M&A activities) to assess client track records, ambitions, and project viability.
- Develop comprehensive competition mapping and criteria to assess client credibility, project viability, and sales success probability to inform strategic decisions.
- Solid Bid Management background in solar and storage with a successful track record in EPC, ICP, or OEM activities.
- Experience with large utility‑scale solar farms (>50MWp), BESS projects (stand‑alone, AC or DC coupling), and microgrid projects.
- Knowledge of key components: solar panels, inverters, BESS, HV equipment, mounting structures, SCADA, etc.
- Established background in the construction industry.
