Tenterden House Care Home, Lye Lane, St Albans, AL2 3TN
. Salary: £13.00 per hour.
Contract:
Permanent.
Hours:
30 per week with alternate weekends.

Responsibilities- Run morning and afternoon activity sessions tailored to residents, including musical acts, days out, exercise classes, visits from the community, arts and crafts and more.
- Produce and update an activity planner, working within the allocated activities budget.
- Support residents and encourage their participation in activities.
- Organise birthday surprises for residents.
- Ensure all logistics for planned activities, events, performers and days out are coordinated.
- Liaise with external companies and community performers to organise days out and events at the home.
- Assist with breakfast, lunch and dinner duties when necessary.
- Organise one‑to‑one sessions with residents, including reminiscence tools, puzzles, reading or simply a cup of tea and a chat.
- Update paperwork, care plans, activity notes and manage emails.
- Support the home’s social media channels as required.
Skills & Qualifications
You are a creative thinker with plenty of ideas, capable of managing budgets and maintaining paperwork while effectively prioritising tasks. You have a genuine interest in caring for others, share a sense of humour and spread infectious enthusiasm for improving people's lives. You can motivate colleagues to support activities, forge links in the local area and involve friends and family, bringing community spirit to everything you do.
