Position Summary

Youth Support Worker in Charge – Hertfordshire County Council.

Hours:

18.5 hrs per week.

Location:

Opportunities in St Albans and North Herts (specify on application).

Contract:

Permanent. Directorate:
Childrens Services.

About the Role

Your focus will be leading the delivery of targeted early evening youth work projects for vulnerable young people, helping them overcome challenges and thrive. Through early intervention you will help prevent issues from escalating and affecting young people’s daily lives, health, development, or safety. Your work will make a real and lasting difference.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team that provides support to young people transitioning to adulthood.

• Build positive, trusting relationships with diverse groups of young people.

• Adapt flexibly to the needs and priorities of the service.

About You

Essential

  • Recent experience working with young people.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and planning.
  • Ability to work regular evenings in line with JNC terms and conditions.
  • Confident in using ICT.
  • Previous line management experience is desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence & regular access to a vehicle.
