Graduate Freight Clerk - Logistics

We are now recruiting a Graduate Freight forwarding clerk based in St Albans to join the succesful freight forwarding team in the European Freight forwarding department

Our Freight Forwarding client is a dynamic, forward-thinking, innovative UK Freight Forwarding business that encompasses Multi Modal Worldwide Freight Forwarding, Customs Clearance, Warehousing and UK and European road transport. They are exceptionally financially strong and well run private, family business.

The graduate role will be working in the European freight operations department you will be joining an established team of 5 your role will involve:

* Assist with the management of a key contract for a substantial European based manufacturer, working alongside the Senior Operations Co-ordinator.

* Organising shipments between the UK and Europe as well as within Europe itself.

* Identifying Suppliers.

* Negotiating costs, both with your clients and also your Suppliers.

* Communicating complex logistical solutions verbally and in writing.

* Inputting quoted prices and chasing clients and colleagues for conclusions.

* Gain an understanding of customs requirements in a post-Brexit trading relationship with Europe.

Experience / skills required

* An academic individual with good common sense.

* Living within a short commute to St Alban (no relocating candidates)

* Strong verbal and written commercial skills.

* Organised, good attention to detail.

* French or German language would be an advantage, not a necessity.

* An interest in geography and commerce.

* An understanding of MS Excel

* Confident, positive and engaging personality.

Salary and Benefits
