About the Role:

Eden Brown Synergy is recruiting experienced Duty Social Workers to join the St Helens Children's Services Duty Team. This key role involves responding to all referrals from the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), initiating assessments, and developing care plans for children. You will be part of a fast-paced, dynamic team with 4 dedicated sub-teams, each led by a Team Manager and Assistant Team Manager.

Duty Social Workers are on duty once every 4 weeks, responding to referrals, completing assessments, and ensuring that children's needs are met efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for social workers experienced in Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), Public Law Outline (PLO) work, and Section 47 investigations to gain exposure to a variety of safeguarding cases.

Responsibilities:

Respond to referrals from the MASH and initiate timely assessments
Manage short-term cases on CIN, CP, and PLO with a focus on outcomes
Work closely with professionals to ensure children's needs are prioritised
Produce high-quality assessments, care plans, and reports
Support the step-down process for longer-term cases
Participate in on-duty rotations and maintain effective case management

Essential

Skills & Experience:

Proven experience managing CIN, CP, PLO, and Section 47 investigations
Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a focus on child safety
Excellent communication and partnership-working skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organisational skills to work in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to putting the child at the centre of all work Working Arrangement:

Hybrid working: minimum of 2 days per week in the office, unless on a 5-day duty rotation
Full support from a dedicated practice support team and regular supervision to develop your professional practice
