Engineering Stores Supervisor

Job Overview

A well-established manufacturing business is recruiting a Stores Supervisor to manage warehouse operations, goods inwards, stock control, and stores staff within a fast-paced engineering environment. This role would suit an experienced Warehouse Supervisor, Stores Team Leader, or Materials Controller with strong organisational and people-management skills.

Responsibilities Summary

* Oversee day-to-day stores and warehouse operations, including goods inwards, picking, spares, and dispatch

* Ensure accurate booking of materials and maintain high levels of stock control and inventory accuracy

* Coordinate picking of materials for production and resolve shortages or discrepancies with purchasing and engineering teams

* Manage spares picking, packing, and collections to agreed timescales

* Organise regular stock checks, cycle counts, and support stocktakes

* Supervise, train, and support stores staff, ensuring safe working practices and procedural compliance

* Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient stores environment

* Provide a responsive internal service to production and factory teams

Skills & Experience

* Proven experience as a Stores Supervisor, Warehouse Supervisor, Materials Supervisor, or Stock Controller

* Background in manufacturing, engineering, production, or industrial environments

* Strong stock control, inventory management, and goods-in experience

* Confident supervising and training warehouse or stores staff

* Familiar with ERP / MRP systems (desirable)

* Good communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills

* Strong focus on health & safety and process improvement
