Job Description Summary

The North and South Europe Grid System Integration (GSI) team undertakes a wide range of large and complex high voltage power transmission projects, and is looking for a Requirements Analyst to join the team. In this role, you will support both the Tendering teams and Project execution teams to organise, analyse, and deliver the customer and business requirements to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and satisfy the contract needs.

Using a software tool such as IBM Doors Next Generation, you will ensure that all necessary requirements are identified, understood, owned by all affected parties, and that designs produced deliver the required compliance. The compliance is then confirmed through document checks, design reviews, equipment acceptance tests and on‑site testing. Additionally, you will support the teams to identify and manage changes to the project scope, tracking and recording the impact to the requirements.

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong knowledge of Systems Engineering, practical experience of the application of Requirements Management on large projects, familiarity with ISO
16404 and the V‑Diagram, and experience of using a Requirements Management software tool such as IBM Doors NG. An analytical approach to problem solving and a drive for continuous improvement and process development are essential.

Responsibilities
  • At the Tendering (ITO) Phase
    • Act as the focal point for Requirements Management, providing expert support on process and tool usage.
    • Import and organise the Customer’s Requirements into the RMS tool and validate the data.
    • Supervise Clause‑by‑Clause assessment, ensuring clauses are allocated accurately and owned.
    • Support internal and external requirement compliance, including engagement with GEC and procurement specification export.
    • Convert complex or critical requirements into clear requirement language for accurate assessment.
    • Record solutions for critical clauses and ensure method of satisfaction is captured.
    • Expedite and report the Clause‑by‑Clause process, resolving blockers and providing progress updates.
    • Document change management, capturing clarifications, TQ responses, and adjustments during negotiations.
    • Ensure the RMS tool reflects the as‑sold baseline prior to handover to the OTR Execution Team.
  • At the Project Execution (OTR) Phase
    • Act as the focal point for Requirements Management, supporting the Project teams on process and tool usage.
    • Map requirements to the System Break‑Down Structure, ensuring all requirements are mapped and assigned owners.
    • Convert complex or critical requirements into clear requirement language for accurate management.
    • Supplement Customer requirements with business and legal requirements required for successful delivery.
    • Support definition of actions needed to satisfy requirements, linking to design deliverables or narratives.
    • Ensure validation and verification (V&V) at design, manufacturing, and system levels, recording results in the RMS tool.
    • Capitalize lessons learned by converting them into reusable requirements for future projects.
Qualifications
  • A first degree in Systems Engineering or an equivalent Engineering or Science Degree (or equivalent experience).
  • Significant experience in Systems Engineering, including working in multidisciplinary engineering projects.
  • Strong numerical and IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in front‑end engineering, scope definition and management.
  • Experience in lifecycle management using the Systems Engineering V‑Diagram.
  • Experience in Requirements Elicitation following INCOSE guidelines (desirable).
  • Experience with IBM Doors NG or similar requirements management tools (desirable).
  • Experience with Model‑Based Systems Engineering (desirable).
Desired Characteristics

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Systems Engineering and its application to the power transmission business. They will be confident discussing and presenting these topics to GSI colleagues, clients and senior management. They will be a proactive team player with good communication, interpersonal skills, self‑management, high flexibility, resilience and a self‑learning attitude.
