Contract:
12 Month Contract – full time, onsite at Beacon Barracks, Stafford.
Hours of Work: 40 Hours per week
Location:
Beacon Barracks, Stafford
- The service and maintenance of diesel, MTOs and electrical MHE and plant vehicles and related ancillaries.
- Coordinate with controller and customer on expected work, ensuring clarity of timescales and costs.
- Identify the root cause of a breakdown in a timely manner and source the correct parts cost‑effectively, using available resources including the technical team when required.
- Inspect and check own work to ensure equipment performs satisfactorily and is safe before handing back to the customer.
- Inform the customer of any further required work and its cost implications, maximizing potential revenue where applicable.
- Complete all related job and service documentation correctly, obtaining necessary signatures and documents from the customer.
- Level 3 Apprenticeship (C&G or NVQ technical certificate plus functional skills) in a related engineering function such as Vehicle Systems Maintenance, Vehicle Electrics, Electronics, Vehicle Diagnostics, Automotive Engineering, Hydraulics or Power Train.
- Significant experience working in a related engineering function – Car Mechanic, HGV Fitter, Plant Fitter – or a formal apprenticeship qualification.
