Job Description SummaryThe Secondary Design Engineer will lead a geographically diverse team of designers, subcontractors, engineers and project teams working on protection and control schematics and substation equipment. The role offers a high‑level overview of design and interfaces with various teams throughout the project cycle.
Responsibilities- Establish document list for your field based on tender, contract analysis and project strategy.
- Evaluate engineering workload and deliverable dates with PEM or PM, and commit to budget and timelines.
- Ensure on‑time delivery of designs and partner documents with suitable quality.
- Lead and coordinate the design team, managing detailed execution progress.
- Request and coordinate technical meetings with partners or suppliers as needed.
- Highlight scope or design changes, inform PEM/PM of issues, and propose solutions.
- Ensure compliance with customer technical requirements and look for cost optimisations.
- Relevant degree – electrical or mechanical, function of field of activity involved.
- Significant and demonstrated years of engineering experience in the related activity/discipline, preferably in project & EPC type environment in T&D, Power Gen or Oil & Gas industry, or 2 to 4 Medium Set projects in position of Lead Engineer.
- Experience of project technical management processes, preferably in a multi-disciplinary team’s context with multiple interfaces.
- Several experiences in managing externally subcontracted design work package of various sizes.
- Knowledge of Transmission or Distribution industry.
