Are you looking for a new dietetic role that will have the opportunity to work across inpatients, day services and the community?

An opportunity has arisen within our Specialist Eating Disorder Service. We are looking for two enthusiastic, self-motivated and innovative Dietitians with an interest and/or experience of working within specialist mental health eating disorder services.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and someone who wants to make a difference to our service users, families and the communities we serve.

The one post is primarily based on the inpatient ward in Stafford and the other post primarily works across both Staffordshire and Shropshire community teams. Both positions have a requirement to travel between bases and work across the Staffordshire and Shropshire localities.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a high level of verbal and non verbal communication skills. A degree of flexibility in approach is required along with a willingness to learn whilst working in a clinical area of specialism that can bring its challenges.

The role involves working within a multi professional team and alongside other dietetic colleagues to provide a highly specialist dietetic service to adult out-patients and in-patients receiving treatment from the Eating Disorder Team and forming a key element of the treatment care pathways.

Providing a highly specialist dietetic service to adult out-patients, in-patients and day treatment services receiving treatment from MPFT Eating Disorder Team and forming a key element of clinical care pathways.

To be an integral part of the multidisciplinary eating disorders team and be an expert in the provision of nutritional advice, education and training to nursing staff, doctors, dietetic students and other health care professionals.

To be responsible for the development of junior members of the dietetic team and support the development of the dietetic service delivery within the Eating Disorder Services.

Job responsibilities

Professional / Clinical Practice

To complete a comprehensive assessment of service user needs (including cultural, religion, family and environmental influences, eg shift patterns), ability/skill, motivation and nutritional intake to provide a nutritional diagnosis (interpretation of biochemistry, medical history, anthropometric measurements, medication, diet history and nutritional intake).
