Position: Environmental Protection Officer (Environmental Enforcement)

Environmental Protection Officer (Environmental Enforcement)

Position offered by Kingston Council (Kingston & Sutton) – Permanent, Full Time, 36 hours per week, Salary £33,987 – £42,060 per annum.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate complaints about fly‑tipping and other waste offences.
  • Identify and enforce against abandoned vehicles and unlawful mooring on the River Thames.
  • Collect evidence, take statements, prepare case files and attend court.
  • Maintain detailed records of investigations and enforcement actions.
  • Support the Shared Environment Service when required.
Qualifications
  • Experience in environmental enforcement or related investigation activities.
  • Knowledge of PACE, RIPA, and environmental legislation.
  • Good ICT skills and ability to use computer systems for evidence management.
  • Strong communication, organisational and decision‑making skills.
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle (primary work vehicle).
  • Professional qualification or relevant experience in a related field is advantageous.
