The
Solar Technician will travel to job sites around the defined service area and help build and maintain solar, battery storage, and electric vehicle infrastructure. The technician must be competent and qualified to work on electrical and/or mechanical components of Renewable Energy assets. The Solar Technician may take part in full system installation, commissioning, maintenance, system performance evaluation and troubleshooting of power and energy systems.

What you’ll be doing as a Solar Technician:
Follow all Health and Safety policies to maintain a zero-incident workplacePerform preventative and corrective maintenance on utility, rooftop and energy storage system assetsComplete maintenance logs, work orders, service reports and safety documentationUsing electrical testing equipment including multimeters, meggers, thermal imagery, and able to complete torque tests and performance evaluationsFollow and implement LOTO plans and procedures, including energizing/de-energizing proceduresInterpret schematics and blueprintsQuality assurance checklists and inspections to document deficiencies and identify corrective actions neededFollow OEM specific maintenance requirements in addition to company standards and industry best practices NETA MTS, CSA Z463, etc.Work in a team-based environment and independently whereas necessaryParticipation in on-call weekend services on a rotating scheduleIdentify and provide feedback to issues and ongoing development of projectsWilling to work overtime as neededKeep the sites looking clean and safe– buildings, vegetation, fences, gates, roads, etc.Ensure spare parts inventory is organized and cleanSpark Power Employee Benefits and Perks:

Minimum 2 years electrical experience is requiredHigh school diploma or equivalentPost-secondary education with an electrical or mechanical base is an assetElectrical license an assetValid Driver’s License with suitable driving recordMust be able to lift 34kg (75lb)Able to determine color codesPositive attitude, strong work ethic and a willingness to learnCustomer-focused attitude with an ability to represent Spark positively and professionally on customer sites and within the communityFirm commitment to safetyAbility to travel within the designated territoryAbility to work overtime and/or on-call rotation at timesWho is Spark Power?
