School Facilities Caretaker Plant Services

Support school facility operations through cleaning, inspections, and maintenance as a full-time Temporary Caretaker with RCCDSB’s Plant Services.

The Renfrew County Catholic District School Board operates schools and administration buildings across 13 communities. Reporting to Plant Services, this position ensures cleanliness standards through inspection and completes assigned custodial work. You will maintain equipment, document regulated checks, monitor heating, cooling, and lighting, and help keep facilities ready for students, staff, and community users. Work may include after-hours fire or security events.

• Inspect schools and maintain required cleanliness standards
• Check classrooms daily and uphold custodial equipment
• Complete fire, emergency lighting, water, and WHMIS-related records
• Monitor heating, cooling, and lighting for comfort and conservation
• Assist principals, external groups, drills, and after-hours facility events

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma required
• At least one year of institutional or commercial janitorial experience
• Strong interpersonal skills with diverse school and plant-service contacts
• Ability to write reports, requisitions, and read technical materials
• Ability to work independently and within a team atmosphere
