Location: Niagara-on-the-LakeSUMMARY
Primary duty is to set up and release shipments imported into Canada across various modes of transportation containing a wide variety of commodities, paying close attention to the rules and regulations as set out by CBSA in the Customs Act.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up and release of assigned account shipmentsProcessing of highly complex shipments, with various Participating Government Agency requirementsTrack and trace incoming shipments and communicating with clients as requiredSupport other customs team members with various customs processesProvide final accounting to CBSA for a set list of assigned accountsArranging for payments of invoices to steamship lines, warehouses, government agenciesArranging for transportation of cargo once released, and maintaining trucker relationships to maximize partnershipsIdentify tasks that require special handling, recommend process improvements, and implement resolutions within assigned scope of responsibilityAdhere to all Standard operating Procedures and Polices set in place by the department and organizationProvide input and be an active participant at weekly team briefingsQuality, Health & Safety:

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent qualificationCertified Customs Specialist (CCS)5- 10 years of freight forwarding and/or customs brokerage experienceSkills and Competencies
