A leading South African digital banking group is looking for a sharp, detail-driven Model Validation Analyst to join its Model Risk function.

This is a proper analytics role — not a tick-box compliance job. You’ll be validating, challenging, and monitoring models that genuinely matter across credit risk, marketing, and broader predictive use cases
.

What you’ll be doing

• Independently validating and monitoring scorecards and predictive models
• Challenging model assumptions, methodologies, and performance
• Working across the full credit lifecycle (application, behaviour, etc.)
• Partnering with technical and business teams to ensure models are robust, transparent, and fit for purpose

What we’re looking for

• Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or Data Science (Honours advantageous)
• 3 to 6 years’ experience in model development, validation, or monitoring
• Strong data‑mining and analytical skills
• Solid understanding of credit risk modelling
• Someone who can think independently, ask uncomfortable questions, and back it up with data
