Are you ready for a leadership role in an international audit practice – and do you get energy from building, connecting and safeguarding audit quality?
From our beautiful office in Stellenbosch, you will help shape our audit practice for (primarily) Dutch clients. You may already have experience with Dutch auditing standards and Dutch GAAP — and if not, you are eager and able to learn them quickly. With full support from our Dutch audit practice, you will further develop this expertise and guide a strong local team.
Equally important: you are a connector. You build bridges between the Netherlands and South Africa, but also within the Stellenbosch team. You create cohesion, foster trust and ensure people feel part of one practice — regardless of location. Additionally, you actively contribute to the further development of our entity’s own activities in Stellenbosch and play a key role in the growth and positioning of the office in South Africa and beyond.
Whatwill you do?
In this role, you oversee daily audit operations in Stellenbosch:
- Assign and schedule audit tasks for the team.
- Track budgets, deadlines, and milestones across projects.
- Ensure audit files meet quality standards and firm methodology.
- Review files according to Dutch practice for accuracy and clarity.
- Provide guidance to the South African team based on client needs and Dutch audit requirements.
- Initiate new opportunities within our service offering (in South Africa and beyond).
- Prepare the groundwork to obtain a SAICA training licence for the entity.
- Train colleagues in Dutch methods and best practices.
- Organise technical sessions for ongoing development.
- Foster team cohesion through communication and shared values.
- Integrate new members and help everyone connect—to each other, to the Netherlands, and our practice’s purpose.
You are a natural bridge‑builder who enjoys bringing people together both professionally and personally. You:
- Coordinate daily with managers and partners in the Netherlands and keep communication lines short.
- Switch easily between people, priorities and processes.
- Build a cohesive, engaged team in Stellenbosch where collaboration thrives.
- Encourage an environment where people feel supported, heard and motivated.
- Contribute actively to recruitment, onboarding and strengthening internal team culture.
- Improve and standardise processes to support audit quality and team wellbeing.
Stellenbosch will be your long‑term home base. Periodic travel to the Netherlands and international audit clients may be part of the role to maintain strong relationships and stay aligned with the Dutch practice.
What we expect from you- Experience:
At least 8 years of relevant audit experience, ideally in an international environment. - Strong technical audit skills, with the ability and willingness to learn Dutch GAAP and Dutch auditing standards. Experience with either is a strong plus, but not a strict requirement.
- A leadership style that balances audit quality with genuine care for your colleagues and team culture.
For strong day‑to‑day collaboration, we appreciate candidates who have their home base within the Cape Town region.
What you can expect from usAn impactful role in a growing international audit practice — right from our modern and inspiring office in Stellenbosch, surrounded by vineyards and a lively professional community.
