The Thermal Analysis & Space Physics team is responsible for the analysis, development and testing of spacecraft thermal control systems. Projects include Telecoms & Navigation, Earth Observation, Science and Exploration. Recent projects:
Solar Orbiter, Bepi‑Colombo, Lisa Pathfinder, Eurostar Neo, One Sat.
- Apply a proven understanding of thermal analysis principles to challenging engineering projects.
- Undertake spacecraft thermal analysis work packages within the team.
- Work to a specification with the correct interpretation of thermal requirements.
- Support thermal testing activities: generate predictions, develop test plans, run tests, evaluate results and correlate models to data.
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams to ensure design solutions meet cost, quality and time objectives.
- Author clear and concise thermal analysis reports, demonstrating understanding of performance and compliance.
- Understanding of thermal design drivers for spacecraft systems, subsystems and equipment.
- Knowledge of thermal analysis techniques, methods and principles.
- Prior experience with thermal analysis tools (Systema Thermica/Thermisol, ESATAN‑TMS, Hyperworks, etc.) is beneficial.
- Knowledge of a range of active and passive thermal control solutions.
