An opportunity has opened within a major defence engineering organisation working on a next-generation combat air programme. The team is building advanced capabilities that will redefine how complex weapon effects are coordinated, integrated and delivered within future air platforms. This is a rare chance to influence a programme with international collaboration and long-term strategic importance.

The Opportunity
You’ll be part of a systems team responsible for early concept development, system analysis and architecture definition across a large, multi-domain programme. The work spans requirements, modelling, design reasoning and high-level trade studies. You’ll engage with senior technical leaders, support project-wide design direction, and help shape how future weapon effects are managed within demanding operational environments.

What you’ll be doing

* Delivering system-of-systems concept development activities

* Requirements elicitation, decomposition and justification

* Supporting architectural definition using Model Based Engineering tools

* Working with cross-functional teams to define the system concept, constraints and design principles

* Contributing to assessment, analysis and design reasoning across domains

* Supporting junior engineers and contributing to continuous improvement

What you’ll need

* Strong systems thinking and analytical capability

* Ability to create and communicate system concepts and architectures

* Confident presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders

* Comfortable making design-impacting decisions across multiple domains

* Clear communication, attention to detail, and a willingness to work within an agile team
