Technical Author / Technical Documentation Writer
MBDA invites applications for the Technical Author role based in Stevenage.
Salary: up to £43,000 depending on experience.
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days in the office per week.
Security Clearance: British Citizen or Dual UK nationality; BPSS required.

- Analyse, develop and deliver technical publications for MBDA’s complex portfolio across Air, Land and Sea domains.
- Collaborate with multi‑disciplined internal and international teams across industry and government groups.
- Ensure design teams understand the publication development, production and maintenance processes.
- Participate in demonstration or process‑proving activities at MBDA sites or customer locations in the UK or overseas.
- Maintain high‑standard technical publication records, reports, and documentation.
- Authoring specialist to support and develop complex engineering descriptive and procedural documentation.
- Experience in technical authoring essential; expertise in SGML required, with ability to adapt to other authoring formats desirable.
- Familiar with S1000D authoring tools, BREX, CSDB environment and related reports.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a willing, helpful and calm professional manner.
- Experience or knowledge of military environments for operation and maintenance technical publications (preferable).
- Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas.
- Experience liaising with product suppliers in support of technical publication technologies.
