We are seeking a Technical Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering company in Hertfordshire. This role is ideal for someone with strong CAD skills who enjoys working across both design and technical documentation rather than solely producing drawings.

You will play a key part in supporting the engineering and production teams by creating high-quality technical documents, specifications, manuals and visual guides alongside Solid Works-based design work.

• Produce and maintain technical documentation including assembly instructions, product specifications, manuals and technical reports.
• Create supporting CAD models and drawings using Solid Works.
• Translate engineering concepts into clear, concise and accurate documentation for internal teams and customers.
• Support the engineering and manufacturing teams with technical queries and updates.
• Assist in product configuration change management and document control.
• Collaborate closely with design, production and quality teams to ensure documents reflect current processes and standards.

• Strong experience using Solid Works.
• Background in engineering technical design or a related discipline.
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, structured technical documentation.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
