Ward Clerk-Neonatal – East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust

We are recruiting a Ward Clerk who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. This role is based in the Neonatal Unit and involves essential administrative and clerical support to the neonatal team, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of daily operations.

  • Maintain accurate patient records and manage admissions, discharges and transfers.
  • Liaise with multiple departments and support families and staff in a compassionate, professional setting.
  • Maintain daily bed statements and patient activity through the Trust’s patient information systems (such as Lorenzo, K2, Badgernet and Mediviewer).
  • Perform manual audit checks to ensure data accuracy and liaise with medical secretaries and other administrative colleagues as required.
  • Support the transfer of infants to neonatal outreach services by preparing relevant discharge information under clinical guidance.
  • Monitor the arrival of visitors and regulate entry into secured areas within the unit, maintaining departmental security.
  • Ensure medical records movement and appropriate filing; prepare infant case notes for neonatal clinics and manage outpatient appointment arrangements for discharged infants.
