PERL Software Developer at European Foundation for Business Qualification (EFBQ)

As a trusted partner to the UK Ministry of Defence,
EFBQ seeks an experienced Embedded Software Engineer with strong C programming skills and proficiency in PERL. The role involves developing and maintaining text-based templates used for Technical Publications authoring and publishing. You will also design and enhance applications and reporting tools across C#, SQL, Java, and Power Shell.

• Code technical publication style sheets using PERL.
• Develop database solutions to store and retrieve company information.
• Install and configure information systems to ensure functionality.
• Analyze, plan, and define data architecture framework, including security, reference data, metadata, and master data.
• Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions.
• Improve system performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting and integrating new elements.
• Optimize new and current database systems.
• Define security and backup procedures.
• Collaborate with other teams to devise and implement data strategies, build models, and assess shareholder needs and goals.
• Provide operational support for Management Information Systems.

• Strong proficiency in PERL programming.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and C# for database and application development.
• Experience with data visualisation tools and techniques.
• High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis.
• Hands-on experience in data modelling, metadata management, and data synthesis.
• Proven ability to gather, document, and analyse complex system requirements.
• Exceptional analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and detail.
• Demonstrated problem-solving mindset and ability to deliver innovative solutions.
