Our two distinct operating segments, Asset Management and Life, work together to provide access to balanced, long‑term investment and savings solutions.

We will consider flexible working arrangements for any of our roles and also offer work place accommodations to ensure you have what you need to effectively deliver in your role.

The Role:

Project Manager - M&G Life

The Project Manager plays a critical role in delivering change across Customer Service and the wider Life business, ensuring all projects and business events are delivered safely, effectively and in alignment with M&G’s strategic objectives.

You will be responsible for shaping, planning, and driving delivery from initiation through to benefits realisation, ensuring change is controlled, customer‑focused and aligned to M&G’s governance and Change Handbook methodologies. Working collaboratively across operational teams, technology, external partners, and senior stakeholders, you will ensure that outcomes are clearly defined, risks are well‑managed, and that change is implemented in a way that improves customer experience, strengthens the control environment, and reduces operational risk.

This role requires strong delivery discipline, excellent stakeholder engagement, proactive risk management and the ability to navigate complex, multi‑party delivery environments to achieve measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities for this role:
  • Work collaboratively and take personal accountability for maintaining and enhancing the business and change controls within your assigned projects, supporting improvements to the overall control environment, customer outcomes, and the reduction of M&G’s operational risk.
  • Take end‑to‑end responsibility for the delivery of projects or linked business events, ensuring clear agreement on required outcomes and realisation of benefits as defined in the business case or supporting documentation (e.g., increased FTE efficiency, improved CSAT, reduced complaints).
  • Shape the project or business event to drive optimum delivery of outcomes — including planning at the appropriate level of detail, sequencing and structuring work streams, and ensuring alignment to the underlying business need.
  • Establish and co‑ordinate change activities across Customer Service
, including the engagement, monitoring and integration of all third‑party deliveries and dependencies.
  • Act as the point of escalation and support
, ensuring timely resolution of significant risks, issues, and blockers that threat delivery or target timelines.
  • Ensure alignment to the M&G plc Change Handbook
, applying required methodologies, governance, lifecycle standards and quality expectations consistently.
  • Monitor and review all aspects of project delivery and economics
, including production of deliverables, cost management, staffing requirements, resource allocation, and overall financial and operational performance.
  • Ensure effective communication, governance, quality assurance and monitoring
, supported by clear reporting, transparent decision‑making and full traceability of progress, changes, and risks.
  • Articulate, manage, and reduce overall risk exposure
, driving a shared understanding across stakeholders and enabling appropriate trade‑offs to strengthen delivery confidence and meet agreed timelines.
  • Proactively engage and manage stakeholders
, ensuring direction, scope, priorities, and progress are understood, aligned, and communicated throughout the lifecycle of the project.
