Clinical Negligence Solicitor

Location: Glasgow

Team: Highly Regarded Healthcare Department

The Role

This leading firm is seeking NQ-4 PQE Solicitors to join its nationally recognised Healthcare team, advising on complex and sensitive Clinical Negligence matters.

You’ll work within a dynamic, fast-growing department that acts on the full spectrum of healthcare law, including high-quality defendant clinical negligence and regulatory work for NHS bodies, medical indemnifiers, private hospitals, clinics, care homes, insurers and individual clinicians.

Alongside this, you will manage varied, challenging and genuinely rewarding cases, helping clients achieve the right outcomes while deepening your own technical expertise.

The Work
  • Manage a caseload of pre‑litigation and litigated Clinical Negligence matters
  • Conduct or assist on complex claims and healthcare regulatory work
  • Draft pleadings, reports, correspondence and detailed legal advice
  • Engage in advocacy and attend hearings and court proceedings
  • Supervise and mentor Junior Lawyers and Paralegals
  • Build strong client relationships and deliver excellent service
  • Support business development and practice growth
  • Undertake additional responsibilities contributing to the wider success of the team
Your Experience
  • NQ - 4 years PQE in Medical Negligence
  • Strong defendant Clinical Negligence experience
  • Good working knowledge of CPR and claims handling processes
  • Excellent drafting skills and strong technical ability
  • Analytical mindset with strong investigative and problem‑solving skills
  • Effective time management and the ability to prioritise a busy workload
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Confident working independently where required
