The Role
You’ll develop new business, strengthen existing customer relationships and position Xylem’s rental solutions to solve real‑world water challenges. The role blends strategic planning with hands‑on customer engagement and commercial execution, aiming to grow market share and support long‑term partnerships.
What You’ll Be Doing- Manage and develop a strong portfolio of customers and prospects across Scotland and the Northern Region.
- Build influential relationships with Tier 1 contractors, utilities, and key stakeholders.
- Understand customer requirements and align them with the right technical solution from our rental portfolio.
- Proactively identify new opportunities, deliver quotations/tenders and drive consistent pipeline growth.
- Translate market insight, competitor activity and customer feedback into actionable sales strategies.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, ensuring visibility of opportunities, funnels and account plans.
- Partner with internal teams and third‑party contractors to deliver best‑in‑class customer outcomes.
- A bachelor’s degree in a technical or commercial field, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years in technical, industrial or solution‑based sales (water or utilities background advantageous).
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to quickly grasp complex technical solutions.
- Proven success in account development, strategic sales planning and closing opportunities.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills across customer types and levels.
- Full UK driving licence (Category
B). - Fluent English, written and spoken.
- Experience with large contractors, utilities or industrial customers.
- A natural ability to challenge assumptions, uncover unmet needs and position standout solutions.
- Curiosity about market trends, new technologies and ways to improve customer outcomes.
- Comfortable working autonomously while contributing to cross‑UK collaboration.
