We are seeking a Board-Certified Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join the Veterinary Specialty Centre of Newfoundland and Labrador (VSCNL), the province’s only emergency and referral centre located just outside St. John’s. VSCNL offers emergency care, surgery, rehabilitation, internal medicine, and diagnostic imaging, providing a diverse and challenging caseload on an ocean away from the nearest centre on mainland Canada.

As a Board-Certified Veterinary Surgeon, you will work closely with an enthusiastic team of veterinary technicians, assistants, medical laboratory technologists, and a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner. You will have access to advanced surgical tools (Storz arthroscopic and laparoscopic equipment, C‑arm, harmonic scalpel, Asculap drills, locking implants, etc.) and an in‑house laboratory and imaging suite featuring a 32‑slice GE CT and a 1.5 T MRI.

We are looking for a passionate, client‑centered team member who is personable, confident in client communication, self‑motivated, and eager to collaborate closely with the VSCNL team. A board‑eligible or board‑certified veterinary surgeon (SA) who is licensed or eligible to practice in Newfoundland and Labrador. Strong communication, teamwork, and a positive attitude are essential.

• Board certification as a veterinary surgeon (SA) or board eligibility
• Licensed (or eligibility) to practice veterinary medicine in Newfoundland and Labrador

• Outstanding communication skills, especially when dealing with clients
