Join Kent Building Supplies to lead and manage the Electrical/Plumbing/Hardware/Seasonal/Garden Centre department. This role is based in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Job Description

Department Managers drive sales performance and operational excellence within their area. They lead a team, execute merchandising plans, manage inventory, and provide an exceptional customer experience. They maximize profitability and protect assets through inventory control, loss prevention, and compliance with company policies.

• Lead by setting safety, customer service, and visual merchandising standards.
• Drive sales by engaging customers, analyzing performance metrics, and implementing action plans to meet targets.
• Communicate priorities clearly to associates and ensure they have tools, training, and support.
• Coach and develop team members through feedback and performance conversations.
• Resolve associate and customer concerns professionally, promoting a respectful and inclusive culture.
• Partner with the Assistant Manager to support store‑wide initiatives and uphold operational standards.

• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast‑paced retail setting.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities.
• Passion for customer service and commitment to achieving sales goals.
• Preferred experience in retail sales and team supervision.
• Product knowledge within the department is an asset.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• CSA‑approved steel‑toed footwear required while on shift.
