Position: Healthcare Security Officers () Saint Luke's.

Description:When Saint Luke’s Homes opened on June 17, 1965, the complex was comprised of the main building for ambulatory residents needing special care, and 48 one-bedroom cottages.
Since then, the Saint Luke’s community has undergone tremendous changes, growing to support an Adult Outreach (Day) Program for people living in their own homes, and providing additional affordable housing for seniors in our apartments and townhouses

Patrol Hospital Grounds: Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.Access Control

Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations.Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.Collaboration with Hospital Staff

Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.Enforce Hospital Policies: Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standardsPrerequisites:
Valid Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector CheckValid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor)Tuberculosis (TB) Screening: All healthcare workers must undergo assessment for tuberculosis.Vaccination Documentation: Proof of completion of the full series of childhood/primary vaccinations is required.Tdap Vaccine: One dose of Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Acellular Pertussis (Tdap) vaccine is required upon reaching 18 years of age.Booster Requirement: A booster dose of tetanus toxoid-reduced diphtheria toxoid (Tdap) is required every 10 yearsValid Class 5 Driver License & must be willing to take shifts at sites within a reasonable driving distance.English (oral and written) fluency is a mustPrevious experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)Applicants lacking these certifications can optEducation Requirements (All)
