Groundworks Quantity Surveyor

We're working with a leading civil engineering and utilities contractor who are looking to add an experienced Groundworks Quantity Surveyor to their team in Skelmersdale. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business with a strong project pipeline across the North West.

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing commercial aspects of a range of groundworks and civil infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on Section 278 (S278) highway works.
You'll play a key role in cost control, valuations, variations, and final accounts, working closely with site teams, subcontractors and local authorities.

• Managing costs across multiple groundworks & civil engineering projects

• Preparing Bills of Quantities, take-offs and tender submissions

• Handling valuations, variations and final accounts

• Commercial management of S278 highway works including kerbing, road construction, drainage and reinstatement

• Liaising with clients, local authorities and project teams

• Ensuring compliance with contractual, commercial and H&S requirements

• Experience as a QS within groundworks / civils

• Strong understanding of Section 278 (Highways Act) works

• Background in drainage, reinstatement, kerbing, roadworks or infrastructure

• Able to manage multiple packages and deadlines

• Excellent commercial awareness and communication skills

55,000 - 70,000 (depending on experience), Comprehensive package including car/allowance, pension and benefits
