About the RoleWe are looking for an Engineer / Transportation Officer in the Network Asset Maintenance team within the Capital Delivery Service.
The successful applicant will inspect the highway and publicly maintained access routes on a daily basis, provide repair and site information, respond to public enquiries and record data on the Council’s information management system. Working with the maintenance team and contractor to ensure repairs are carried out in a timely manner and to the required standards. This will be in accordance with the Council’s Highway Safety Inspection and Repair policy and plan.
You would also be required to provide evidence in court to assist with the Council’s defence of highway related claims.

About YouThe ideal candidate will have experience of preparing accurate records & reports, working to strict deadlines, monitoring contractor performance, liaising with utility companies and other key stakeholders.
About UsThe highways team at Stockport Council maintains around 1,000km of road with drainage infrastructure, street furniture and road lining. Safety related highway defects are recorded via routine and reactive highway inspections and then scheduled for repair with the contractor. This assists with maintaining safe passage for pedestrians and other road users.
