Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Quantity Surveyor / Estimator – Leading Civils Contractor (Staffordshire)

Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 + Package & Benefits

A highly respected civils contractor based in Staffordshire is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their growing commercial team. The business specialises in surfacing works on commercial projects, delivering high-quality schemes for a wide range of clients across the region.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, well established contractor with a strong pipeline of secured work and genuine opportunities for progression.

The Role

You will take ownership of both commercial and pre-construction estimating responsibilities, supporting the business through all stages of project delivery.

Key Responsibilities (QS):

* Managing costs across live projects to ensure commercial targets are met

* Preparing valuations, variations and final accounts

* Liaising with site teams to monitor progress and manage subcontractor accounts

* Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures

Key Responsibilities (Estimator):

* Preparing accurate tenders and cost plans for upcoming surfacing projects

* Conducting take-offs, measuring works and assessing material / labour requirements

* Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations

* Supporting bid submissions and contributing to winning work

The Ideal Candidate

* Experience in civils, highways, surfacing or general groundworks

* Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills

* Ability to work across both QS and estimating duties confidently

* Good communication skills and a proactive approach
