The closing date is 29 January 2026

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced, innovative, and dynamic Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly and dedicated team on the Stroke Rehabilitation Ward at Haywood Hospital.

At Haywood Hospital, part of MPFT, we provide specialist inpatient rehabilitation for patients recovering from complex strokes. Our patients often present with multiple needs – physical, social, cognitive, and psychological – and we work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to ensure holistic, patient-centred care.

Our goal is to maximise independence, support safe and effective discharges, and deliver an excellent standard of care across all pathways. Patient welfare is at the heart of everything we do.

Joining us means becoming part of a supportive and friendly team environment where your contribution is valued. You will have access to opportunities for professional development and service innovation, and you will be making a real difference in the lives of patients during their recovery journey.

Main duties of the job

Sneyd ward is a 20-bed specialist stroke rehabilitation ward, with close links with the University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM) acute stroke unit. The team is made up of highly skilled MDT including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and psychologists.

We are looking for a therapist who is experienced and confident in managing complex stroke cases, with a genuine passion for stroke rehabilitation and a commitment to improving patient outcomes. You will bring strong leadership skills, creativity, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. HCPC registration and relevant postgraduate experience are essential for this role.
