The OpportunityWe are seeking a Senior Cost Manager with strong experience in the highways and wider infrastructure sector to join our growing Infrastructure team based in Stoke-on-Trent.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing detailed cost plans and estimates, managing commercial performance, and providing strategic cost and procurement advice across major infrastructure and highways projects. Depending on project scope, you may work independently or lead a small team, acting as a key client partner from early design through to project completion.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive cost management services from feasibility through to final account.
- Develop robust cost plans, estimates, tender documentation, and progress reports.
- Oversee procurement, contract administration, and change management processes.
- Monitor budgets, risks, and value outcomes to ensure project efficiency and cost certainty.
- Mentor and support junior colleagues, promoting technical excellence and professional growth.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to continued business success.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Engineering, or a related discipline (RICS accredited preferred).
- Chartered (MRICS) or working towards professional qualification.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within highways or infrastructure cost management.
- Strong technical and commercial knowledge, particularly with NEC and other standard forms of contract.
- Excellent client-facing, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure.
